TÜBİTAK R&D INCENTIVES

TÜBİTAK supports R&D and innovative projects, especially in the field of technology. It supports the R&D activities of organizations that create added value at the firm level, and the improvement of the R&D capability of the Turkish industry.
The main objectives of the support programs are to increase the competitiveness of the Turkish industry, to ensure its presence in international markets and to accelerate research and development activities. Organizations that keep pace with the global innovative culture and are open to growth can benefit from these support programs.
TUBITAK supports qualified projects on the production of a new product, the improvement of product quality or standards, or the development of cost-reducing techniques and new production technologies.

General Characteristics of TUBITAK Projects

-TÜBİTAK supports early-stage technology-based companies that can add value to the national economy with the capital they need.
-TÜBİTAK supports machinery, equipment, raw materials, molds, software, publications, analysis and consultancy expenses within the scope of R&D projects.
-Concept development, technical and economic feasibility studies, laboratory and similar studies in the process of transition from concept to design, design, design development and design verification studies, creation of a pilot plant, trial production and type tests are supported by TÜBİTAK.

 1501- TUBITAK Industrial R&D Projects Support Program
1501- Within the scope of the Industry R&D Support Program, within the framework of the definition of innovation; producing a new product, developing and improving an existing product, improving product quality or standard, or developing new techniques and new production technologies that reduce costs
R&D qualified projects are supported. The support rate of the program is applied as 75%. The project support period is specified in the call announcement and cannot exceed 36 months in accordance with the Implementation Principles of the Program. Other special conditions such as the budget limit of the project, the limit of the number of projects to be submitted, etc. are specified in the call announcements. Unless otherwise stated in the call announcement, there is no subject limitation for projects. Applications can be made for R&D projects from all sectors and in all technology areas.

R&D service expenses outsourced to R&D institutions and organizations.

1505- University-Industry Cooperation Support Program

Client Organizations (SMEs or all large-scale capital companies) and Executing Organizations (Universities, Research Infrastructures, Public Research Centers and Institutes) can jointly apply to the program. The maximum support period is 24 months.
If the client organization is an SME, 75% of the project budget is covered by TÜBİTAK and the remaining 25% is covered by the client organization. If the client organization is large-scale on the project application date, 60% of the project budget covered by the support is covered by TÜBİTAK and the remaining 40% is covered by the client organization. The portion of the project budget to be covered by TÜBİTAK is limited to 1.000.000 TL.
The amounts to be transferred by the Client Organization and TUBITAK to the project special account to be opened by the Executing Organization will be made in installments in proportion to the project expenses in 6-month periods defined starting from the project start date.
The Executing Organization will be able to procure services from the Client Organization, provided that they do not exceed 10% of the periodic budget, and in this context, the expenses of the project officer of the client organization can also be supported. Thus, a part of the contribution of the client organization to the project can be reimbursed to the client organization in return for service procurement. Researchers from different universities can take part in the same project team. Project Incentive Bonus will be paid to the researchers in the project team after the technical evaluation of the 6-month periods.

1507 – TUBITAK SME R&D Startup Support Program

Within the scope of the program, within the framework of the definition of innovation; R&D qualified projects carried out on the production of a new product, development, improvement of an existing product, improvement of product quality or standard, or development of new techniques and new production technologies with cost-reducing qualities are supported. The support rate of the program is 75%. The project support period is specified in the call announcement and cannot exceed 18 months in accordance with the Implementation Principles of the Program. The project budget is maximum 1.200.000 TL. It is aimed to support the first 5 projects of the company by TÜBİTAK, provided that two of them are partners. Other special conditions such as the limit on the number of projects to be submitted within the scope of the call are specified in the call announcements. Unless otherwise stated in the call announcement, there is no subject limitation for projects. Applications can be made for R&D projects from all sectors and in all technology areas.

1511 – TÜBİTAK Priority Areas Research Technology Development and Innovation

P. (Technology Oriented Industrial Move Program)
The Technology-Oriented Industrial Move Program is a special program that aims to concentrate the support and incentives provided by the Ministry and its affiliated/related institutions (TÜBİTAK, KOSGEB) on medium-high and high-tech sectors by managing them from a single window in order to increase value-added production in Turkey. It is aimed to increase the production of medium-high and high-tech, high value-added products and products that are critical for the development of these sectors in Turkey and to bring new production opportunities and capabilities to our country within this framework. It is aimed to realize investment projects that will contribute to the technological development that our country needs with an end-to-end governance and support model.
Non-refundable (grant) support is provided to the supported project expenses of companies at a rate of 60% for large-scale organizations and 75% for SMEs after the expenditure. In the projects supported under the Technology-Oriented Industrial Move Program, the service procurement expenses related to the Independent Evaluation Report of the organization are supported only for large-scale companies up to the amount determined by the Board of Directors. Transfer payment (prepayment) can be given. The duration of support for projects submitted and supported under the Technology-Oriented Industrial Move Program is up to the upper limit of the project duration specified in the Technology-Oriented Industrial Move Program call announcement.
